Description

The THOR Hammer SE-9 is a professional-grade headset microphone built around a Danish omnidirectional condenser capsule - the same capsule technology trusted in high-end broadcast and performance environments. At just 8 grams without the cable connector, it is one of the lightest headset microphones available in its class, making it ideal for long services, all-day conferences, or theatrical performances where comfort over extended wear matters.

What sets the Hammer SE-9 apart from many similarly priced headset mics is its careful tuning for vocal clarity across both male and female voice ranges. The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound evenly from all directions.

The mic ships with a dual-ear adapter that wraps around both ears for added security during high-movement performances. The cable is also detachable, which is a practical detail that extends the life of the microphone - if a cable gets damaged, you replace just the cable rather than the entire mic. A protective carrying case is included as well, which helps protect the mic between uses and during transport.

Why Buy From GearTechs

GearTechs has been serving churches, schools, and businesses for over 35 years. Every product we carry is one we stand behind. Our team of expert technicians is available to help you before and after your purchase.

Setup Tips

  • Position the capsule: Omnidirectional mics pick up from all directions, so you do not need to aim the capsule directly at the lips. Placing it near the corner of the mouth or along the cheekbone produces cleaner audio with less breath noise and pop artifacts. Experiment with placement before your event or service to find the sweet spot.
  • Use the dual-ear adapter for active performers: If the person wearing the mic will be moving energetically - think worship leaders who walk, gesture broadly, or interact with the congregation - attach the included dual-ear wraparound adapter. It takes about 30 seconds to add and significantly reduces the chance of the mic moving during use.
  • Take advantage of the detachable cable design: The cable connects and disconnects from the mic body, which means you can store extra cables separately and swap them quickly if a cable is damaged between services or shows. Label your cables by connector type to avoid grabbing the wrong one in a hurry.
  • Store the mic in its case between uses: The included protective case is worth using regularly. Headset mic booms and cables are vulnerable to bending and kinking when tossed loosely in a gear bag. Keeping the mic in its case will extend its usable life significantly, especially in environments where multiple people handle the gear.
