Bad design, but necessary.

We handle these with exceptional care. However, these cables short out at the top of the hard plastic black ring, at the termination connector to the transmitter. This ring seems to be an attempt at strain/bend relief. However, it is HARD plastic, not rubber. Out of the last 5 ordered, they have all failed at this point. If there is an alternative cable, buy it instead of this cable. Otherwise, the mic sounds great when the cable is new.
