Description

If you already own a THOR Shadow SH20 headset microphone and need to connect it to a different wireless transmitter, or if your original adapter gets lost or damaged, this replacement MicroDot adapter is exactly what you need. Rather than purchasing an entirely new microphone, this small adapter screws directly onto the MicroDot connector on the SH20's cable and converts it to the connector type required by your specific wireless bodypack transmitter.

The adapter is available in three connector options: TA4F (commonly used with Shure and Line 6 transmitters), 3.5mm (commonly used with Sennheiser EW series transmitters), and LEMO (commonly used with Shure ULXD, Shure Axient and Sennheiser EW-DX systems). This makes it straightforward to match your SH20 microphone to the wireless system your organization already owns, or to switch between systems as your setup evolves.

This adapter is designed specifically for use with THOR Shadow SH20 microphones that use a MicroDot-terminated cable. It is not a universal adapter and should not be assumed compatible with other microphone brands or cable systems without verification.

Compatibility Guidance

This adapter is designed to work with the THOR Shadow SH20 headset microphone when configured with a MicroDot cable. The MicroDot end screws onto the cable's connector, and the opposite end plugs into your wireless bodypack transmitter.

The TA4F connector is the standard 4-pin mini connector used by Shure wireless systems including the SLXD, ULXD, QLXD, and Axient series, as well as Line 6 wireless products. If you are using a Shure or Line 6 bodypack, the TA4F version is almost certainly what you need, but confirming your specific transmitter model is always the best practice.

The 3.5mm version is commonly associated with Sennheiser EW (Evolution Wireless) series bodypacks. The LEMO version is used with Shure ULXD, Axient and Sennheiser EW-DX systems, which use a proprietary locking connector. These variants may be available under different SKUs - contact GearTechs to confirm.

If you are not sure which connector type your wireless transmitter uses, check the input port on your bodypack or refer to your transmitter's documentation. Wireless connector types are not always interchangeable, even between products from the same brand across different product generations.

Who This Product Is For

Ideal For

  • Churches and worship teams that already own a THOR Shadow SH20 and need to connect it to a Shure, Sennheiser, or Line 6 wireless system
  • AV coordinators managing multiple wireless transmitter brands across different rooms or campuses
  • Performers or presenters who lost or damaged their original adapter and need a quick replacement
  • Schools and businesses with existing wireless infrastructure that want to add a headset microphone without replacing the entire system
  • Theater and production teams migrating from one wireless platform to another
  • Livestreaming teams building out their audio setup around existing wireless gear

Best Use Cases

  • Replacing a lost or damaged MicroDot adapter on an existing THOR Shadow SH20 microphone
  • Connecting a SH20 microphone to a Shure wireless bodypack using the TA4F version
  • Connecting a SH20 microphone to a Sennheiser EW series bodypack using the 3.5mm version
  • Connecting a SH20 microphone to a Shure ULXD, Axient or Sennheiser EW-DX bodypack using the LEMO connector
  • Switching a SH20 microphone between different wireless systems by swapping adapters
  • Stocking a spare adapter as part of a production team's backup kit

May Not Be Ideal For

  • Microphones from other brands - this adapter is designed for use with the THOR Shadow SH20 MicroDot cable, not as a universal headset adapter
  • SH20 microphones that came with a direct-wired TA4F or 3.5mm cable rather than a MicroDot cable - those do not use this adapter
  • Buyers who are unsure of their wireless transmitter's connector type and have not confirmed compatibility before ordering
  • Wireless systems that use proprietary connectors outside of the TA4F, 3.5mm, and LEMO options offered by THOR
  • Situations requiring a long-term, high-duty-cycle solution where a direct-wired replacement cable might offer better reliability than an adapter

Setup Tips

  • Confirm your connector type first: Before ordering, identify the input connector on your wireless bodypack transmitter. Look at the port itself or check your transmitter's manual. TA4F is a 4-pin locking connector commonly found on Shure and Line 6 bodypacks. Sennheiser EW uses a 3.5mm locking connector. Shure ULX and Sennheiser EW-DX use a LEMO connector. Getting this right before you order saves time.
  • Thread the adapter on carefully: The MicroDot connection uses a small threaded fitting. Align the connector before turning and screw it on clockwise with gentle, even pressure. Do not force it or cross-thread it. Snug is enough - overtightening can strip the threads and damage both the adapter and the cable end.
  • Test before going live: After attaching the adapter, plug into your transmitter and do a full soundcheck before your event or service starts. Confirm the signal is clean and the connection is stable. A loose adapter is one of the most common causes of intermittent audio issues in live settings.
  • Keep a spare in your kit: Adapters are small and easy to misplace during setup or teardown. If your ministry, school, or production team relies on this microphone regularly, keeping one spare adapter on hand prevents last-minute scrambling before a service or event.
  • Handle the MicroDot connection gently: The MicroDot connector on the SH20 cable is small and precision-made. Avoid pulling on the cable near the connection point. When removing the adapter, unscrew it carefully rather than pulling it free by force.
