The Lexicon PCM96 processor brings 28 stunning reverb, delay, and modulation effects—both new and classic—directly into your DAW. Built for modern studio workflows, the PCM96 functions as either a control-only hardware insert or a FireWire streaming audio plug-in, seamlessly integrating with Mac-based VST and Audio Units software.
Making its debut are newly developed Room and Hall algorithms, along with a fresh selection of mono reverbs and effects. Drawing on decades of Lexicon innovation, the PCM96 also includes an extensive library of over 1,200 factory presets—featuring many iconic sounds that have shaped music production for years.
Taking traditional Lexicon reverbs further, the PCM96 adds multimode filters at key points in the signal path, allowing for precise tonal shaping without losing the rich, signature Lexicon sound. Each reverb includes an “Infinite” switch, enabling endless decay for creating ambient textures and experimental soundscapes.
The new Room algorithm offers a powerful, flexible alternative to convolution reverbs. Users can manipulate reflection patterns in real time—scaling, EQing, reversing, or combining them with conventional reverbs to create longer decays and more immersive spatial effects.
With two channels of XLR analog and AES/EBU digital I/O, plus MIDI, Ethernet, and FireWire connectivity, the PCM96 fits seamlessly into both studio and live sound environments. No matter the setting, it delivers the unmistakable warmth, clarity, and depth that define the Lexicon sound.
