Description

The ClearSonic MMP78 MiniMegaPac78 is a complete drum isolation booth built for spaces where controlling drum volume really matters. It wraps the kit in 360 degrees of clear acrylic shielding and tops it with a full lid, then adds a generous amount of Sorber absorption to soak up reflections inside the enclosure. The result is a noticeable drop in stage volume, usually in the range of 60 to 70 percent, without hiding the drummer behind an opaque wall.

With interior dimensions of roughly 7 feet wide, 6.5 feet deep, and 6.5 feet tall, the MMP78 gives a drummer real headroom and elbow space. It is sized comfortably for four and five piece kits, so most worship drummers and stage players will fit without feeling boxed in. Because the panels are clear and seamless, the drummer can still see the worship leader, band, and click cues, which is a big deal in a live setting.

This package is often chosen by churches and production teams that have moved to in-ear monitors and want tighter control over what the front-of-house mix picks up. By cutting down mic bleed and taming acoustic drum volume in the room, the sound tech gains far more say over the overall blend. The booth is also popular in recording and rehearsal settings where isolation improves the quality of drum tracks.

Model MMP78 includes 130 square feet of SORBER sound absorption, a 72-inch wide by 66-inch deep SL7266 LidPac, and a 6-inch clip-on fan for interior cooling. The front is built from an A2478x6 CSP system and the rear from an A2478x5 CSP system, joined on one side using included HCNL H-channel and BASE channel. The other side is left unattached so one of the end panels can swing open as a door. The system is modular and expandable, so you can add to it later if your needs change.

Who This Product Is For

Ideal For

  • Churches and worship teams looking to control acoustic drum volume on stage
  • Production teams running in-ear monitor setups
  • Recording studios needing improved drum isolation
  • Rehearsal spaces where volume is a concern for neighboring rooms
  • Theaters and live venues with pit or stage drums
  • Schools with music programs and performance spaces

Best Use Cases

  • Reducing drum bleed into vocal and instrument microphones
  • Lowering overall stage volume for a cleaner front-of-house mix
  • Isolating drums during multitrack recording sessions
  • Housing a four or five piece kit on a permanent worship stage
  • Giving the sound tech greater control over the drum level in the room

May Not Be Ideal For

  • Very small stages or platforms with limited floor space
  • Teams needing a fully soundproof enclosure, since this reduces rather than eliminates volume
  • Frequent teardown and transport, given the size and number of panels
  • Compact kits where a smaller shield or partial screen would be more practical
  • Budget-conscious buyers who only need a simple front-facing shield

Setup Tips

  • Plan your footprint first: Measure your stage before ordering. At 7 feet wide by 6.5 feet deep, this booth needs a dedicated area, and you want room for the drummer to enter and exit through the door panel.
  • Position the access door thoughtfully: One side is left unattached so an end panel acts as a door. Set that opening where the drummer can get in and out easily without disturbing cables or other gear.
  • Use the cable cutouts: Route drum mics, monitor feeds, and power through the built-in cutouts to keep everything tidy and avoid pinching cables between panels.
  • Run the clip-on fan during long sessions: An enclosed booth with a lid can get warm. The included 6-inch fan helps keep the interior comfortable during rehearsals and services.
  • Combine with in-ear monitors for best results: Isolation booths work best when the drummer is on in-ears rather than a loud wedge, since a loud monitor inside the booth partly defeats the purpose.
