Description

The ClearSonic IPF - IsoPac F is a self-contained vocal isolation booth built to give you a quieter, more controlled recording space without the cost and construction of a permanent room. It combines clear acrylic shields with absorptive SORBER panels and includes a lid on top, so you get both sound reduction and reflection control in one package. The clear panels let a vocalist or performer stay visually connected to the room while still working inside a defined space.

This particular model is a medium-sized booth, measuring 5 feet wide by 5 feet deep by 6.5 feet tall. While it is often thought of as a vocal booth, it works just as well for capturing acoustic guitars, brass, woodwinds, and other acoustic instruments that benefit from a cleaner, drier recording environment. The combination of transparent shields and dark absorptive panels helps tame room reflections around the microphone.

Churches, schools, home studios, and production teams often reach for a booth like this when they need a repeatable recording space but do not have the room or budget to build one out. Because the ClearSonic system is modular, it can be arranged and moved as needed, which makes it a practical choice for spaces that serve more than one purpose.

If reflections off the front shields become a problem during a session, ClearSonic recommends adding a few S2224 SORBER baffles that attach to the offending shields with Velcro. For best results, place them at the same height as your microphone. This lets you dial in the amount of absorption you need for a given voice or instrument.

Setup Tips

  • Plan your footprint first: This booth needs a 5-foot by 5-foot floor area with about 6.5 feet of vertical clearance. Confirm the space before you set up so the panels sit flat and the lid fits properly.
  • Position the mic away from the shields: Keep the microphone toward the center rather than up against a panel. This gives you a more even sound and helps reduce close reflections.
  • Add SORBER baffles where needed: If you hear reflections off the front acrylic shields, attach S2224 SORBER baffles with Velcro at the same height as your mic. Adjust as you go until the sound feels controlled.
  • Mind airflow and comfort: Enclosed booths can warm up quickly with a person inside. Plan for breaks or ventilation for longer sessions to keep performers comfortable.
  • Keep cables tidy: Route mic and headphone cables out through a consistent gap so the panels stay aligned and you avoid pinching cables.
