Description

The ClearSonic IPD IsoPac D is a complete drum isolation package that pairs a see-through acrylic shield with sound-absorbing SORBER baffles. Measuring 6 feet wide by 6 feet deep and 4 feet tall, it wraps around a drum kit to tame stage volume and cut down on the sound that bleeds into other microphones. The package includes a 4-foot tall A2448x5 CSP acrylic panel with five S2224 SORBER baffles attached to the inside lower portion, plus two S2444x2 baffles that wrap around the rear.

This system is a favorite in worship spaces, recording studios, and live stages where drum volume needs to come down but the drummer still needs to feel connected to the rest of the team. Because there is no lid included, the IsoPac D lets some sound escape naturally. That tradeoff keeps the drummer feeling less boxed in while still giving the sound tech noticeably better control over the overall mix.

With 48 square feet of SORBER baffle material, the IsoPac D provides meaningful volume reduction that is well matched to smaller kits and rooms where floor space is limited. The design is modular and expandable, so if your needs grow you can add on later. Cable cutouts make it easy to route mic and monitor lines to your gear without pinching anything or leaving gaps.

If you think you may want a fully enclosed booth with a lid down the road, it is worth looking at the IsoPac C instead, since it is built to accept a LidPac upgrade. If you are not sure which configuration fits your room and your kit, reach out and we can walk through the options with you.

Setup Tips

  • Measure your kit and space first: The IsoPac D footprint is 6ft x 6ft. Confirm your kit fits comfortably inside with room for cymbal stands and the drummer before setting up.
  • Position the SORBER baffles inward: The absorptive baffles face the kit to soak up reflections. Make sure the acrylic faces out toward the room and the baffled side wraps the drums.
  • Use the cable cutouts: Route mic and monitor cables through the built-in cutouts rather than under the panels so you avoid gaps and keep the shield sitting flush.
  • Angle the panels for stability: Set the shield in a gentle curve rather than a flat wall. The angled panel layout is more stable and improves how sound is contained and reflected.
  • Add treatment behind the kit if needed: Since there is no lid, pairing the shield with room treatment behind or above the drums can further improve results in bright rooms.

If you need help setting up or troubleshooting your system, GearTechs can help. Our team has real-world experience supporting churches, schools, businesses, and production environments.
