ClearSonic IPA78 - IsoPac A78 Drum Isolation Booth Package

The ClearSonic IsoPac A78 (IPA78) is a complete drum isolation booth combining clear acrylic panels with Sorber sound-absorbing baffles to reduce drum volume by roughly 50 to 60 percent. With continuous 78-inch front panels, a covered lid, and a clip-on fan for air exchange, it gives sound techs far better control over the mix while keeping the drummer visible to the room.

Description

The ClearSonic IsoPac A78 is a full drum isolation booth package designed to tame the volume of an acoustic drum kit without hiding the drummer behind a wall of foam. It pairs clear acrylic panels in the front with Sorber sound-absorbing baffles in the rear and lid, giving you a controlled, contained space that still feels open and visible. This is the kind of setup that solves a very real problem for anyone mixing live drums in a room that was never designed for them.

What makes this particular model stand out is the use of continuous 78-inch front panels instead of separate height extenders. That means a cleaner sightline to the drummer, faster setup, and one less seam to deal with. The front uses an A2478x7 clear panel, the rear uses three S2466x2 Sorber baffles, and additional Sorber panels line the lower interior of the acrylic to soak up reflections where they build up most. A Sorber lid baffle is added to the standard three-section lid to create a roughly 7-foot wide by 5.5-foot deep covered top.

The booth is intentionally designed to breathe. The rear Sorber baffles stand about a foot shorter than the clear panels, leaving open space at the top for air exchange, and the package includes a six-inch clip-on fan to keep air moving for the drummer. ClearSonic rates this configuration at roughly 50 to 60 percent volume reduction thanks to about 128 square feet of Sorber baffling, which is a meaningful drop for a churches stage or a tight studio control situation.

For worship teams, schools, theaters, and recording rooms, the practical payoff is simple. Less drum bleed into vocal and instrument mics means the sound tech gains real control over the overall mix. Cable cutouts make it easy to route mic and monitor lines into the booth, and the modular design means you can expand the system later if your needs grow. It is made in the USA and built to hold up to regular use.

Who This Product Is For

Ideal For

  • Worship teams and houses of worship managing live drum volume on stage
  • Recording and rehearsal studios needing isolation and lower bleed
  • Schools and performing arts programs with shared rooms
  • Theaters and production teams running live bands
  • Sound techs who want more control over the mix in acoustically difficult rooms
  • Venues where maximum space efficiency matters

Best Use Cases

  • Reducing acoustic drum volume in a sanctuary or auditorium
  • Lowering mic bleed for cleaner multitrack recording and live mixing
  • Containing drums in a multi-purpose room shared with other activities
  • Keeping the drummer visible to the worship leader or band while still isolating sound
  • Building a more controlled monitor and stage volume environment

May Not Be Ideal For

  • Teams needing a fully soundproof, sealed enclosure (this reduces volume, it does not eliminate it)
  • Very small stages or platforms that cannot accommodate the roughly 7-foot wide by 9-foot deep footprint
  • Setups that require frequent teardown and transport, since this is a larger fixed-style booth
  • Drummers who feel claustrophobic in fully enclosed spaces

Setup Tips

  • Measure your stage footprint first: Confirm you have room for the roughly 7-foot wide by 9-foot deep by 6.5-foot tall footprint, plus space for the drummer to enter and exit comfortably.
  • Position the open rear toward a wall: The rear baffles are shorter to allow air exchange, so face the open back away from the congregation or audience to keep sound contained where it matters most.
  • Use the included fan: Clip the six-inch fan inside so the drummer stays comfortable. Enclosed spaces warm up quickly during long services or sessions.
  • Route cables through the cutouts: Plan your mic and monitor lines before the drummer sits down so you are not feeding cables in after the fact.
  • Install the lid support bars properly: The two lid support bars provide stability for the covered top, so take the time to seat them correctly for maximum support.
