Description

The ClearSonic IsoPac A (IPA) is a complete, fully enclosed drum isolation booth designed for situations where acoustic drums are simply too loud for the room. It surrounds the kit with a 7-panel acrylic shield on the front and sides, adds rear SORBER sound-absorption baffles, and tops the whole thing with a SORBER lid. The result is a near-enclosed space that traps and absorbs sound rather than letting it wash across the stage or studio floor.

This is the largest-footprint booth in the ClearSonic IsoPac line, with overall dimensions of roughly 7 feet wide by 9 feet deep by 6.5 feet tall. That extra room makes it a practical choice for full 4- and 5-piece kits, and it can often handle larger 6- and 7-piece setups depending on cymbal and rack spacing. The acrylic panels stand 6.5 feet tall thanks to the included height extenders, so most drummers have comfortable headroom inside the booth.

Where the IsoPac A really earns its keep is in live worship and production settings. A loud drummer can dominate a mix and force everything else louder to compete. By enclosing the kit and absorbing reflections, this booth gives your sound tech far more control. ClearSonic rates the perceived volume reduction at roughly 50 to 60 percent, and the SORBER baffles cut down on mic bleed so each drum mic captures cleaner signal.

The package is also modular. If your needs grow, the IsoPac A can be upgraded toward the larger MiniMegaPac configuration by adding panels and baffles. Cable cutouts make routing drum mics and monitor lines easy, and the included clip-on fan helps with air exchange inside the enclosed space. For churches, schools, theaters, and recording rooms that want a serious, professional-grade solution, this is one of the most complete drum shield systems available.

Compatibility Guidance

The IsoPac A is compatible with most standard 4- and 5-piece acoustic drum kits, and it can accommodate some 6-piece and larger setups. Fit depends less on the number of drums and more on how much floor space your gear occupies, including cymbal stands, racks, mic stands, and throne position.

Because this is an acoustic isolation product rather than an electronic one, there are no wireless or connector compatibility concerns. The cable cutouts work with standard XLR drum mic cables, monitor feeds, and in-ear lines. The booth is also designed to integrate with the rest of the ClearSonic SORBER and acrylic ecosystem, so it can be expanded over time.

If you are tight on space or unsure whether your kit will fit, the best approach is to measure the width and depth footprint of your existing setup before ordering. Leave room to move and reach your gear comfortably.

Setup Tips

  • Measure before you build: Lay out your full kit including stands and cymbals, then measure the width and depth so you know the booth footprint will work in your space.
  • Leave the rear air gap intact: The design includes about a foot of open space at the rear top for air exchange. Do not seal it off completely, as airflow keeps the drummer comfortable.
  • Use the clip-on fan: The included 6" two-speed fan helps move air inside the enclosed space. Position it where it cools the drummer without blowing into mics.
  • Tame reflections with extra baffles: If front-shield reflections cause problems during recording, add a few S2224 SORBER baffles with Velcro at the same height as your mics for the best effect.
  • Route cables through the cutouts: Plan your mic and monitor cable paths through the built-in cutouts before final placement so you are not reopening panels later.
