The Audix VX5 is a premium electret condenser microphone designed for vocals in stage, studio, and broadcast settings. Delivering studio-quality sound in live environments, the VX5 offers a smooth, accurate frequency response, strong feedback resistance, and can handle extremely high SPLs without distortion.
Its tight, consistently controlled supercardioid polar pattern effectively isolates vocals from other stage sounds. Key features include a 14 mm gold vapor diaphragm, an acoustically ported steel mesh grille with a multi-stage pop filter, as well as a -10 dB pad and bass roll-off filter. With the pad and roll-off engaged, the VX5 handles SPLs exceeding 140 dB and provides over 20 dB of ambient noise rejection in live settings.
Beyond vocals, the VX5 is also well-suited for miking instruments such as guitars, woodwinds, brass, percussion, drum overheads, hi-hats, and pianos.
