The Audix A231 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for the most demanding studio professionals. Equipped with an externally-biased true condenser capsule and low-noise circuitry, the A231 captures the subtle nuances of the human voice and the rich harmonics of acoustic instruments with natural warmth and remarkable clarity. Its highly consistent cardioid polar pattern focuses on the sound source while smoothly rejecting unwanted off-axis noise.

The 33 mm condenser capsule features a precision-tensioned diaphragm crafted from a specially treated, heat-resistant film with gold coating extending evenly to the diaphragm’s edges. This design provides a 25% larger effective diaphragm area compared to typical large-diaphragm microphones, enhancing sensitivity and detail.

Protected by a double-woven steel mesh grille that reduces acoustic reflections and diffraction, the A231 ensures transparent sound reproduction. Its internal shock mount isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations, eliminating the need for a bulky external mount.
