The Audix D4 is a dynamic instrument microphone designed for use in live sound, studio recording, and broadcast environments. Featuring a hypercardioid polar pattern, the D4 offers excellent isolation and feedback rejection, while its VLM (Very Low Mass) diaphragm ensures natural, accurate sound reproduction.
Compact, lightweight, and easy to position, the D4 delivers a wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 18 kHz and can handle sound pressure levels exceeding 144 dB. It’s ideal for capturing instruments with extended low-frequency content, such as large rack toms, floor toms, cajón, djembe, timpani, Leslie cabinet bottoms, bass flute, baritone sax, trombone, acoustic bass, bass cabinets, and small kick drums.
Built for durability, the D4 features a precision-machined aluminum body with a black anodized finish, a laser-etched model and serial number, a steel mesh grille, and a Switchcraft XLR connector. It also comes with a rugged, tension-fit nylon mic clip.
Its transformerless design, low impedance, and balanced output ensure clean, interference-free performance, even over long cable runs.
